SoundBoard Studios specializes in classical guitar, via the Suzuki method and philosophy, providing both private and group instruction for children. In addition to performance technique, we offer comprehensive music theory using the finest computer based materials available. We are located conveniently to, Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Spring Lake, Raeford and Hope Mills communities.

The name classical guitar does not mean that only classical repertoire is performed on it, although classical music is a part of the instrument's core repertoire (due to the guitar's long history); instead all kinds of music (folk, alternative, jazz, flamenco, etc.) can be and are performed on it.

SoundBoard Studios offers a comprehensive musical education program for students of all ages and levels in the Fayetteville area, providing professional guitar lessons to residents of Cumberland County and surrounding counties of Harnett, Sampson, Bladen, Robeson, Hoke and Moore.

In the announced Base Realignment And Closure or BRAC, two major headquarters: Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and Army Reserve Command are moving to to Fort Bragg. SoundBoard Studios welcomes our new neighbors. If arriving in the Fayetteville area or if your family has recently arrived, there is no need to neglect musical education. Our private and group guitar instruction are among the finest in the Southeast.

Thats right folks, no "April Fools" here.  The 18th annual GuitarFest, April 12-14, at Appalachian State University is just 12 short days away. This year the event, under the direction of Douglas James, professor of guitar at the university,  will host such notables as the Amdeus Duo, Deiter Hennings and Stephen Robinson.  This is a special treat for me personally having met Stephen Robinson at the GuitarFest in 1998 when I got to play for him in a masterclass.

While the new website was under construction we were priviledged to have Elliot Frank visit last December.  Elliot Frank, for those who may not be familiar, is the professor of guitar studies at East Carolina University.

With the new website and blog I want to acknowledge some of the studio students that have gone on to study music at the college level.  Among the more resent is Roby Salter who gets a "tip of the hat" for his accomplishments.  After taking a break between high school and college, he studied guitar here and in a very short time had a brilliant audition at East Carolina University.  He was accepted at ECU and has been studing performance with Elliot Frank.
