SoundBoard Studios specializes in classical guitar, via the Suzuki method and philosophy, providing both private and group instruction for children. In addition to performance technique, we offer comprehensive music theory using the finest computer based materials available. We are located conveniently to, Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Spring Lake, Raeford and Hope Mills communities.

The name classical guitar does not mean that only classical repertoire is performed on it, although classical music is a part of the instrument's core repertoire (due to the guitar's long history); instead all kinds of music (folk, alternative, jazz, flamenco, etc.) can be and are performed on it.

SoundBoard Studios offers a comprehensive musical education program for students of all ages and levels in the Fayetteville area, providing professional guitar lessons to residents of Cumberland County and surrounding counties of Harnett, Sampson, Bladen, Robeson, Hoke and Moore.

In the announced Base Realignment And Closure or BRAC, two major headquarters: Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and Army Reserve Command are moving to to Fort Bragg. SoundBoard Studios welcomes our new neighbors. If arriving in the Fayetteville area or if your family has recently arrived, there is no need to neglect musical education. Our private and group guitar instruction are among the finest in the Southeast.

UPDATE FROM THE VIRGINIA SUZUKI INSTITUTE

Some time ago I posted a blog about the Virginia Institute as a potential guitar activity for the summer; well it has kicked off.  Two of my students, Amanda and John Kyle Coniglio are there and attended their first group class with long time Suzuki instructor Bill Kossler.

 Have fun kids!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

I thought I'd take a moment to say "Thanks" to all the studio dads, past and present, for all their unwavering support.

In a studio such as this, its usually the moms that coach the students and I will see the dads only on rare occassions.  But I know that without you dads, in most cases, making the financial as well as emotional commitment we would not enjoy the successes we have had.

I sincerely hope that each of you have a wonderful day with your families. Please accept my heartfelt "Thanks" for all that you have done.

Today the United States Army celebrates its 238th birthday; June 14th 1775 the Continental Army was formed and 238 years later the US Army stands strong in defense of our great nation.  I hope you will join me in "thanking" a soldier for their service.

Happy Birthday Army!

Yesterday I had the rare honor of being invited to the graduation ceremony of Drew Agans; rare because if you're not already aware tickets to these events are very hard to get.

STUDENT HEADED TO WINGATE UNIVERSITY

Wow how time flies! It seems just yesterday when George Skenteris enrolled with me to begin guitar studies - it was the Summer of 2006.  Now a short 7 years later and George is graduating from Terry Sanford High School.

EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY - SUMMER GUITAR FESTIVAL JULY 20-23

Thats right! It's time to get ready for the ECU Summer Guitar Workshop.  This is a staple event for classical guitarist in NC.  We in the studio have been attending this event for more than 10 years now and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Over the years I've had a car or truck load of students to attend the workshop and competition.  Most of those students have moved on to college.  This year one student will make his last trip, with me, before moving on to college.
